About Ari

I care deeply about justice and fairness, and have worked to advance these core principles for my whole career. My goal in serving you is to offer the support you need so that everyone has access to good legal advice at a fair price.

Before opening my own practice in 2017, I worked for years to enforce and improve employment laws nationally and in the District of Columbia. I helped lead coalitions of nonprofits, unions, and workers to fight for stronger wage theft laws, expand DC’s sick days law, and raise our minimum wages. I co-drafted several recent changes that have been enacted to the District’s employment laws, including the new Universal Paid Leave Act. I originally moved to the District back in 2009 to work for the Service Employees International Union.

After graduating from Harvard College and Yale Law School, I clerked on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for the Hon. Michael Daly Hawkins in Phoenix and San Francisco. I am a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia and of New York and am also a Certified Financial Planner (TM).

I live with my family in Petworth. When I’m not practicing law, I’m usually playing with my two young kids, baking, sharing communal dinners, or volunteering with progressive political campaigns.
